Omni 360
Yes, as with all of our Ergobaby Carriers you can breastfeed while on the go. This can be done in either the hip or front-inward carry positions. Just loosen a bit the shoulder straps and slightly lower the waistbelt to position baby on your breast. Always stay vigilant while baby is nursing. Make sure to reposition baby in a correct position immediately after breastfeeding and be careful to not overtighten the carrier.
The Ergobaby Omni 360 baby carrier can be used with your newborn meeting the minimum weight and height requirements, in the front carry position facing you. Your newborn baby must weigh 7 lbs minimum (3.2 kg) and be at least 20 inches tall (50.8 cm).
The Ergobaby Omni 360 baby carrier has been specifically designed so you can carry your newborn baby (minimum 7 lbs / 3.2 kg) without the need of an infant insert. Easy to use, the Ergobaby Omni 360 carrier’s bucket seat gradually adjusts to your growing baby from newborn to toddler (7-33 lbs / 3.2-15 kg) to support your baby in an ergonomic M-shape position at all ages. Please refer to the label on the waistbelt or instructions to adjust the seat based on your baby’s height.
The Ergobaby Omni 360 carrier adapts to your growing baby in just one step. Adjust the seat using the velcro tabs on the waistbelt based on your baby’s height: along the red lines for a baby between 20-24 inches / 50.8-61 cm (~0-3 months), along the yellow lines for a baby between 24-28 inches / 61-71 cm (~3-9 months), along the blue lines for a baby over 28 inches / 71 cm (~9 months +).
At Ergobaby, safety is always a top priority. Given the construction of this particular carrier, we used double locking buckles to ensure a toddler baby could not accidently open the buckle while seated facing out in the carrier. Just squeeze the 2 sides like with a regular buckle, and lift the central tab at the same time.
The Omni 360 is newborn ready and can carry a newborn starting at 7 lbs, whereas the 360 requires the use of an infant insert if you want to carry a baby under 12 lbs. The Omni 360 also has the strap buckles in the front, making it possible to wear it with crossable shoulder straps and is easy to put on and take off. In addition, it comes with a removable accessory pouch pocket which can be worn in various positions on the carrier.
The Omni 360 allows for forward facing while the Adapt carrier does not. It also comes with a removable pouch perfect for carrying your essentials while on the go. The pouch is removable and can be worn in various places on the carrier.
The Omni 360 allows for forward facing and does not require an infant insert to carry a newborn while the Original carrier does not. The Omni 360 also has the strap buckles in the front, making it possible to wear it with crossable shoulder straps and is easy to put on and take off. While the Original has an large zippered pocket on the front panel, the Omni 360 comes with a detachable zippered pouch. The Omni 360 also has the strap buckles in the front, making it possible to wear it with crossable shoulder straps, which the Original does not.
Until your baby has demonstrated strong and consistent head and neck support, her/his head needs to be supported. Ensure the top edge of the carrier is at your baby’s mid-ear level for proper support by positioning baby higher or lower on your body, when pulling the body of the carrier up around your baby’s back. For a newborn baby, 6 weeks and under (minimum 7 lbs / 3.2 kg), fold the head and neck support on the inside, and button it to the lower buttons on the front from the side using the tabs for a tighter support. When baby starts to turn his head from side to side and to hold his head for a few moments, you can fold the neck and head support on the outside and button it to the lower buttons. This usually happens around 7 weeks. For older babies, you can also button up the head and neck support for extra support when needed, such as when she/he is sleeping. When wearing your baby facing out (min 14 lbs/6.4 kg), make sure the head and neck is folded down on the outside and buttoned to the lower buttons, and that your baby’s chin is over the top edge of the carrier body.
The Ergobaby Omni 360 baby carrier has a waistbelt with a lumbar support for added comfort. With a newborn baby, you should wear the waistbelt high on your waist so baby is close enough to kiss. When baby gets older, you can keep the waistbelt higher or position it lower on your hips. It is up to you to see what is the most comfortable for you and your baby as she/he gets heavier. For smaller babies or parents with a long torso, we recommend wearing the waistbelt higher on your body. In the event of a C-section, wearing the waistbelt higher will likely be more comfortable for you.
We recommend that you always wear the waistbelt in a snug fit as it allows an even better weight distribution on your hips for more comfort on your back and shoulders. The lumbar support should always be centered on your back in the front and hip carry positions, and centered on the front for the back carry position.
Loosening the shoulder straps BEFORE buckling or unbuckling the chest strap will make it easier for you to reach it. Make sure to position the chest strap using the sliders on the shoulder straps so it is in the middle of your shoulder blades once you tighten the shoulder straps and get a snug fit for you and your baby’s comfort. You can also try using the Omni 360 baby carrier with crisscross straps when in the front carry position with baby facing parent or facing out as there is no need to reach in the back to buckle/unbuckle the chest strap: all the fastening and tightening is done on the front.
The Ergobaby Omni 360 baby carrier offers all carry positions, and can be used in the front carry position facing you or facing out, as well as hip and back carry positions. Please refer to the specific requirements for use and instructions for each carry position.
Yes, unlike many carriers available on the market, the Ergobaby Omni 360 baby carrier is not a “narrow base carrier”, including in the forward-facing position. The Ergobaby Omni 360 Carrier ensures that babies are seated in an ergonomic, “M”-shape position in all carry positions, including when facing out. The adjustable bucket seat has been designed to carry baby ergonomically and comfortably with knees even to hips, and a rounded spine, regardless of the carry position. The child’s pelvis is gently tipped forward when placed into the carrier, so that the child’s upper spine makes contact with the parent’s body along its full surface, which supports the physiology of a baby’s slightly rounded back.
Yes, the Ergobaby Omni 360 baby carrier is machine washable as all of our carriers. Make sure to fasten all hook and loop fasteners (velcro) and buckles before washing. Use mild detergent free of bleach, perfumes, dyes, chlorine, or optical brighteners.
The Ergobaby Omni 360 baby carrier can be used until your baby weighs 33 lbs / 15 kg (around 36 months old). There is no restriction on how long you can continue wearing baby in a specific carry position, this is more about your comfort and baby’s comfort. We generally recommend wearing babies over 2 years old in the back position as it is the most comfortable position for longer durations of carrying with taller and larger babies. We recommend that you carry your baby high enough on your back so she/he can have a fun view of the world over your shoulder.
Every baby develops differently. You can start using the hip and back carry once your baby demonstrates strong head and neck control, can sit unassisted, and weighs 17.2 lbs minimum (7.8 kg). This is usually around 6 months.
Every baby develops differently. You can start wearing your baby facing out once your baby demonstrates strong head and neck control, with his chin above the carrier body, and weighs 14 lbs minimum (6.4 kg). This is usually around 5 months. Do not use a pillow to prop baby up.
Make sure to adjust the button seats to the inner grey buttons when baby is facing out to narrow the seat. If baby gets sleepy or shows signs of overstimulation, turn baby around to face you.
You can wear the Ergobaby Omni 360 carrier with shoulder straps crossed on your back in the front carry position, with baby facing in or facing out. Wearing crossed straps or parallel straps is individual comfort preference. The crossed straps allow you to easily position the shoulder straps where it is most comfortable for you to wear them on your shoulders, which makes it a great feature for parents with narrower or wider shoulders. It is also appreciated by parents with less mobility as you don’t need to reach in the back to fasten and tighten the chest strap, as all the buckling and fastening is done on the front.
At Ergobaby, safety is always a top priority. Given the construction of this particular carrier, we wanted to make sure that a toddler baby could not accidently open the buckles while seated facing out in the carrier as she/he has an easier access to the buckle. This is why we used double locking buckles for extra-safety.
Four Position 360
Yes, all of our Carriers and Infant Inserts (plus insert pillow) are machine washable.
Parents form tight bonds with their children. Parents know their children and their children’s moods and as a result, are in the best position to decide the optimal way to wear their children based on various factors, such as the situation, the child’s mood and the estimated carrying time. Our Four Position 360 Carrier gives parents the option of making this decision based on their own individual needs as well as those of their child. The easy-to-use carrier allows for quickly changing between the different positions when circumstances and situations change.
Each parent and child is different but usually around 6 months your baby will be ready to be carried on the back and parents are comfortable not having their baby in direct line of sight. Baby must have strong head and neck control and be comfortably sitted consistently in the carrier in an ergonomic, frog-leg position with knees even to hips. People with larger babies who are more developed may choose to put their baby in the back carry position even earlier than 6 months especially for longer carry times since many parents find it more comfortable to wear heavy babies on their backs.
As with all our other carriers, the Four Position 360 Carrier can be used with our unique, custom configurable Infant Insert (sold separately) that allows all of our Ergobaby carriers to be used from birth for babies weighing 7 lbs and above. Our Ergobaby Infant Insert works with the Four Position 360 Carrier the same way that it does with our other Ergobaby carriers, so parents and baby wearing consultants will have no trouble using the Ergobaby Infant Insert with our Four Position 360 Carrier if they are familiar our other Ergobaby Carriers. Again, we want to reinforce that the Four Position 360 Carrier only be used to carry children in the ‘facing out’ position once they are 5-6 months old or older, and even then only for short periods. Prior to that, the “facing in” position on the parent’s chest is the preferred and most comfortable solution.
Yes you can! Just make sure you support your baby securely as you switch between the black/grey buttons on the bucket seat.
Yes, as with all of our Ergobaby Carriers you can breastfeed while on the go. This can be done in either the hip or front-inward carry positions.
Once your baby can see above the front panel of the carrier, has strong head & neck control, and has a natural curiosity to see and interact with the world, they are ready for front-outward carry. We recommend starting with short durations (5-10 minutes) to prevent over-stimulation. If baby shows signs of over-stimulation (zoned out, catatonic, fussy, tired) or sleepiness, just turn them back around to Front-Inward so they can find comfort in their wearer and rest.
To tighten the waistbelt, pull on each end of the waistbelt little by little until you get a tight fit and the lumbar support is centered. You can also try to alternately pull the ends of the waistbelt up and down until you get a tight fit and the lumbar support is centered.
We view the front-outward position (‘facing out’) as a supplemental option for short, active periods and not as the primary carrying method over multiple hours. Now and again, situations arise where parents — and children — prefer this position. Naturally, there is a greater risk of overstimulation than with the ‘facing in’ position, since the child cannot actively turn away. Yet on the other hand, the ergonomic posture ensures very close body contact that allows parents to actively perceive the signals their children are giving. Parents know their children best and can tell when their child is fussy, tired or “zoned out” and it is time to switch to the ‘facing in’ or back carrying position. As a manufacturer of comfortable, ergonomic carriers, we want to offer parents a choice of all options for ergonomic carrying. Our goal is to encourage and embrace all parents to wear their babies for as long as possible by giving them a comfortable, healthy way to do so. Additionally, by giving parents who insist that their carrier have a front-outward option a choice within our product line, it allows us to communicate with them about overstimulation in all of the activities and products that they choose for their baby. We are hoping that this will make new parents more educated about all of the situations that can lead to overstimulation and make them more attuned to baby’s cues that she is overstimulated.
Although we have designed the carrier to distribute baby’s weight as well as possible, parents will always find that inward leaning (front inward, hip, back) will be most comfortable for parents. If parents become uncomfortable with their baby in the front-outward position, they can quickly and easily and quickly transition their baby to one of the other 3 carry positions.
No, Ergobaby’s Four Position 360 Carrier is not a “crotch dangler.” In our carrier, regardless of the carry position, baby is seated in the ergonomically correct, frog-leg position with knees at or above the hips.
No, the Four Position 360 Carrier is a 4 position carrier that offers front-inward, front-outward, hip, and back carry positions. The Front-Outward position is an option for parents.
Our Four Position 360 Carrier meets high safety standards. The safety of our children’s products is our utmost priority. The Four Position 360 Carrier, as with all our carriers, has added safety mechanisms on the hip and shoulder belts, including high-quality clasps, carefully selected materials and a sturdy overall design. It was developed in collaboration with midwives and baby carrier consultants and extensively tested with parents of babies ranging in age from newborn to 4 years of age.
Yes, the Ergobaby 360 Carrier ensures that babies are seated in the ergonomically correct, frog-leg position with knees even to hips, and a rounded spine. This is true for all 4 carry positions. The bucket seat ensures baby’s back will be curved – not arched, allowing baby to always be seated in an ergonomic position with all four carry positions. The seat also allows the baby’s bottom to be fully supported and prevents pressure on baby’s crotch area.
As one of the leading manufacturers of baby carriers, we of course knew that any solution we created had to offer full ergonomic benefits in all positions. We designed the Four Position 360 Carrier so that it has a structured bucket seat, ensuring that the correct spread squat-leg sitting position is maintained even in the Front-Outward position. At the same time, the child’s pelvis is gently tipped toward the rear when placed into the carrier, so that the child’s upper spine makes contact with the parent’s body along its full surface, which supports the physiology of a baby’s slightly rounded back.
For us, it is important that parents carry their children, as being carried satisfies a fundamental childhood need for closeness, physical contact and a sense of safety. Stand on any street corner and just watch — you will see children demanding to be carried and parents picking them up and carrying them, often for hours, which is highly exhausting for the parents. We designed the ergonomic, Four Position 360 Carrier to offer parents many options in one carrier – front inward, hip, back AND front-outward facing (“facing out”), in order to meet parents’ request for this option for babies who are physically and developmentally ready for greater interaction with their environments. Important note: we recommend that this position be used only for short periods starting from the age of 5-6 months upwards, and only when the child is awake. If the child is tired and wants to sleep, we recommend parents change the position to an inward facing or back carry position as the preferred and most comfortable solution.
Carrying isn’t a mandate, but rather the most simple, healthy and easy way to transport a child while promoting a strong bond between the parent and the child. Therefore: Parents and children should together determine which position and duration is preferred and most comfortable. Follow your baby’s lead and respond to her cues. As with all Ergobaby baby carriers, the Four Position 360 Carrier can be used from birth (with the Ergobaby Infant Insert, sold separately) for babies weighing at least 7lbs up to approximately 4 years old (up to 33lbs), and allows for carrying your child in 4 ergonomic positions – front-inward, front-outward, hip, or back. The child’s weight is evenly distributed between the shoulders and waist — ensuring long, comfortable periods of carrying.
These references to ages by months are only general guidelines and each baby’s development is different.
• Front/Inward with Infant Insert (sold separately): 0 – 4 months; 7-12 lbs
• Front/Inward without Infant Insert: 4 – 24 months; 12-26.9 lbs
• Front/Outward: 5 – 12 months; 14-22 lbs
• Hip: 6 – 24 months; 17.2-26.9 lbs
• Back: 6 – 36 months; 17.2-33 lbs
These buttons hold the back panel in place. For additional head and neck support (used for the inward facing positions), fold the panel up and use the top button to buckle in place. Fold the panel down when not in use and secure with the bottom button (Ergobaby logo facing out).
The expert feedback we received during the product development process was and remains highly positive. The midwives and baby wearing consultants that we met with during the product development process were skeptical at first before seeing our Four Position 360 Carrier. Yet, after seeing how ergonomically positioned the babies were in all 4 of the carrier’s positions, the midwives and baby wearing consultants appreciated having a truly ergonomic 4 position carrier to recommend to parents. Many baby wearing consultants heard, as did we, that a number of parents were actively looking for an ergonomic, outward-facing position carrier. The midwives and baby wearing consultants that we met with felt comfortable recommending the front outward position for babies 6 months and older as an option for these parents with the further recommendation that this position be used for short periods of time. It is our hope that the Four Position 360 Carrier may inspire more parents to try and embrace baby wearing without losing sight of the ergonomic aspect for their babies and themselves. The product testing that we conducted with dozens of parents reinforced their hope and desire to have a single Ergobaby carrier that could deliver multiple carrying positions that included front inward, hip, back and front outward.
The recommended age range of the Ergobaby 360 Cool Air is the same as our Four Position 360 baby carriers. It supports babies from 12 up to 33 lbs. with the carrier only, and babies from 7 to 12 lbs. with the use of the Ergobaby Infant Insert (sold separately). Infants more than 12 lbs. but younger than 4 months or without strong and consistent head and neck control must continue using the Infant Insert with the carrier.
The Four Position 360 Cool Air Baby Carrier offers to parents and babies the comfort and ergonomics as our other Four Position 360 carriers, with the added benefit of a cooler design, ideal for an active lifestyle or warmer climates.
Its breathable, double sided, 3D Air Mesh fabric panel and mesh lining keeps baby and parent cool thanks to more airflow. 360 Cool Air carrier is made of 100% Polyester fabric that is machine washable, easy to dry and easy to take care of, while our other 360 carriers are made of 100% Premium Cotton fabric.
The 360 Cool Air Carrier has a lumbar support waistbelt with buckle instead of the velcro waistband of our other 360 Carriers, and have slightly curved shoulder straps with extra padding and mesh lining for coolness.
The construction of the bucket seat is the same as our other 360 carriers, and adjusts the same way with buttons that change the seat width between inward facing and forward facing carry positions (Front Inward, Front Outward, Hip, and Back carry).
Front Inward / Front outward carry: Centered in lower back
Quick check: The two webbing straps on each side of the waistbelt should be of even length to ensure proper centered position of the lumbar support
Hip carry: Centered in lower back
The two webbing straps on each side of the waistbelt will not be even in length.
Back carry: Centered in abdomen
Quick check: The two webbing straps on each side of the waistbelt should be of even length to ensure proper centered position of the lumbar support
Our Easy Snug infant inserts are designed so that you can carry your newborn baby both ergonomically and comfortably in a soothing, nest-like comfort close to you, for a cozy transition to the world from the womb. The Ergobaby Easy Snug infant insert was designed for use with Ergobaby carriers (at the exception of Adapt carrier which does not require an infant insert) for babies from newborn up to age ~4 months (from 7-12 lbs), or for babies more than 12 lbs but younger than 4 months or without strong and consistent head and neck control. It is designed to provide head and neck support and to ensure your newborn is seated both comfortably and ergonomically while in the Ergobaby Carrier.
The fan- shaped design securely attaches to Ergobaby’s 3-Position Original, Performance, or 4-Position 360 carriers, for an intuitive loading of baby and more airflow, while providing all the extra thigh, spine, head and neck support your baby needs in his early months.
The bottom pillow in the Easy Snug infant insert can be removed from the insert and placed inside the carrier, with your baby sitting on top of it. The use of the pillow alone is for babies with strong and consistent head and neck control who are either too short to bend at the knees when seated in the Carrier or would like to be seated higher in the Carrier.
For older babies who still need head and neck support, but can already be seated in the carrier, you can use the shell of the Easy Snug infant insert without the pillow to provide proper support.
To keep parent cooler, we redesigned the Four Position 360 Cool Air baby carrier waistbelt with an added mesh-lined lumbar support piece with buckle, instead of the velcro waistband like the other Four Position 360 baby carriers.
This new design continues to offer the comfort and back support parents love with the velcro waistband, while allowing more airflow for the wearer.
The double adjusters on the waistbelt make it easy for parents to adjust and tighten in all positions.
For children who cannot yet support their heads, this support is very important. Our unique ergonomic infant insert and the head supports on all of our carriers ensure this support at all stages of development. The ‘front outward’ position should only be used once the baby has strong and consistent head and neck control and has outgrown the Infant Insert, meaning the child fits into the Four Position 360 Carrier without the insert and is already able to support her head. We thus recommend that the ‘facing out’ position be used when baby has demonstrated she is ready, only for short periods starting at 6 months, and only when the child is awake. If the child is tired and wants to sleep, the ‘facing in’ position on the parent’s chest or on the back is still the best and most comfortable solution.

Our Original, Organic, and Performance carriers are designed to be ergonomic for you as well as the baby. Therefore, the baby must always be facing the parent to have the proper support from the body of the carrier. So, you should not wear the baby in the front outward position in them. Only the Four Position 360 carrier is designed to carry the baby in this front outward position.
You can launder your Ergobaby carrier using a mild detergent on a gentle cycle with cold water. You can use the dryer for about 20 minutes. It will still be damp. Hang out to dry for the duration of the drying time.
Fabric: The Ergobaby Original Carriers are made from 100% Cotton fabric while the Performance Carriers feature a lightweight breathable mesh back panel to keep baby cool and is ideal for warmer climates.
Shoulder Straps: The Ergobaby Original carrier shoulder straps are cushier and more flexible for maximum everyday comfort, while Performance Carrier’s shoulder straps are curved with a firmer padding and are ideal for back carrying. Still, they can both be worn in the front-inward, back and hip carry positions and for long durations of time, the fit is more about individual preferences.
Chest Strap: The Ergobaby Performance Carrier’s chest strap is on a slider, for easy adjusting.
Weight range: Both Ergobaby Original and Performance carriers support babies up to 45 lbs.
Ergobaby recommends a weight limit of 45 pounds for its Original, Organic and Performance carriers. Our carrier will accommodate you as long as you and your baby are happy using it.

Yes, you can still use the older version of the infant insert. We continuously improve our products. The new Easy Snug infant insert delivers the same great comfort and ergonomics as our old infant insert while enabling more airflow and easier loading of baby. Easy Snug infant insert is cooler for baby with a new streamlined, fan-shape design. The firmer cushioned sides and head and neck support provide all the extra head, neck and thigh support your baby needs in his early months with less material around baby for more airflow. It is also easier and more intuitive to use, with fewer steps to load baby in carrier and no extra-piece to load baby as it securely attaches to the carrier.
Ergobaby recommends a weight limit of 45 pounds for its Original, Organic and Performance carriers. The Four Position 360 carrier has a recommended weight limit of 33 pounds.
The Easy Snug infant insert and pillow are only intended to be used in the front inward carry position.

Baby Wrap
Yes, you can nurse in the wrap. We recommend wrapping baby upright, in a tummy to tummy position, but just a bit lower and still snug, so you are able to bring breast up to baby. If you are large breasted and need a boost, we recommend keeping a rolled up wash cloth in your diaper bag to stuff underneath.
It is not recommended to wear multiple children in the Ergobaby Wrap at the same time because the children may not have enough room to breathe and not seated in an ergonomic position.
While both the Ergobaby Wrap and Ergobaby carrier can be used from birth, the Ergobaby Wrap can only hold up to 31 lbs. Therefore, we highly suggest that you still purchase an Ergobaby carrier as your baby gets older and heavier. The Ergobaby carrier is more structured and can comfortably hold more weight.
Yes, the Ergobaby Wrap is machine washable which makes it easy to clean. We suggest washing your Ergobaby Wrap in cold water and tumble dry low.
We suggest talking to a doctor to get more information on the different carrying options for premature babies.
The back carry position is considered to be more complex than the other carry positions by the babywearing community. There are also many different ways to tie a wrap as some are based on regional preferences and others are based on experience level and babywearing training. As Ergobaby is a global company, we recognized that a single video on the back carry position would not satisfy the different needs of the various regions and experience levels.
Given that the back carry position is more difficult than the other carry positions, we recommend that when learning to place your baby in the wrap in this position, please do so over a bed or other cushioned surface with the assistance of another adult.
Besides following our instructions and making sure your baby is positioned properly, make sure your baby’s airway is clear at all times. You should be able to place two fingers under his/her chin and kiss the top of his/her head.
The key wrap positions are front, hip and back. As you become more involved with wrapping, you will find a wide variety of ways to tie your wrap and carry your baby. The Ergobaby Wrap also offers the pregnancy tie (cross carry) for belly support.
You should start by carrying your baby for short periods of time when he or she is happy and in a good mood. Also, many parents find that it is best to walk with your baby the first few times.
The wide panel ensures babies have full back support up until 31 lb. It also allows for easy and discreet breastfeeding and provides enough support for moms to use as a prenatal and postnatal belly band.
Hybrid wraps have all the benefits of both stretch wraps and woven wraps. Hybrid wraps are elastic just like stretchy wraps are, which makes it easy to take the baby in and out without having to untie the wrap. Not to mention, they are also incredibly comfortable to wear! Unlike stretchy wraps, hybrid wraps provide more support and strength and unlike woven wraps, hybrid wraps don’t need to be broken in. They are ready to be worn right out of the package!
The Ergobaby Wrap is unique because it combines a lot of great features: the material is moisture wicking which makes it breathable, but still has the right amount of density that provides enough support for you and your baby. The 4d stretch™ material allows you to pre-tie the wrap to make loading your baby in easier. Our wrap gives you the perfect fit every time because our material has just the right amount of elasticity. We also know that wraps can seem a bit intimidating at first so we designed a built in storage pocket and dual-colored seams that help guide you to wrap correctly! Not to mention, easy storage and transportation when the wrap is not in use!
The Ergobaby Wrap is designed for newborns and infants because it provides the closeness and comfort they are familiar with when they were inside the mother’s womb. The Ergobaby Wrap also provides you the flexibility to wear your baby in multiple positions and the ability to tie the wrap to your liking. However, learning how to use a wrap can be challenging for some people, which is why the Ergobaby carrier is another great option for carrying your baby. The Ergobaby carrier is more structured and worn just like a backpack. There is the option of carrying your newborn using our infant insert and the carrier can be used until the child is 45 lbs. The Ergobaby Wrap and Ergobaby carrier are both great options for carrying your child. It all depends on what is comfortable for you both!
The Ergobaby Wrap is used for babies 6 – 31 lbs while the infant insert allows you to ergonomically carry babies 7 – 12 lbs in our soft structured carrier. Our wrap is specifically designed for newborns and infants because it provides the closeness and comfort they are familiar with when they were inside the mother’s womb. This helps foster healthy mental and physical development, and calms the baby as he or she hears your heartbeat, breathing and voice. The infant insert on the other hand allows you to use the Ergobaby carrier from day one. The infant insert helps keep pressure off your baby’s developing sacrum and provides the necessary head and neck support as well.
The TOG rating for the Ergobaby Wrap is 0.4. This means that the wrap has been tested to provide minimal additional warmth to you or your baby.
The Ergobaby Wrap has been tested to carry babies up to 31 lbs, but we recommend switching over to the Ergobaby carrier when your baby is around 6 months old as it provides more structure and comfort. The Ergobaby carrier features padded shoulder straps and a padded waist belt that can evenly distribute your child’s weight between your shoulders and hips so you can comfortably wear your child longer. The Ergobaby carrier also provides a sleep hood and storage pocket that prepares you and your child for any outdoor adventures together!
It is important that the fabric is flexible yet sturdy to provide the right support for your child. A good test is to make sure the fabric stretches based on the material itself and not on the way it is woven. You can measure the actual stretch of the material by pulling it in every direction, making sure the fabric stretches equally in each direction. This means that the wrap will stretch, but won’t sag after extensive use. The more difference there is between how much the fabric stretches by direction, the worse the material. The Ergobaby Wrap uses a premium 4d stretch™ material that is strong yet flexible, providing the perfect fit, long lasting support, and exceptional comfort every time.
The tapered ends make it easier to tie the wrap and help make the knot smaller.
You need 3 layers of material to provide the right support for baby. Therefore, our wrap is designed to ensure there is enough material to wrap around people of all sizes. Having more material to wrap around the body also means that you and your baby will have more support and comfort throughout the day. If there is extra material, you can wrap it around your waist, or you can cut it to make it fit you perfectly (although that will void any warranties).
Temperature is always something to cautious of whenever you are wearing your baby, but the Ergobaby Wrap is made out of a thinner, breathable cotton material that keeps you and your baby cool throughout the day.
Nursing Pillow
The Natural Curve Nursing Pillow is able to support nursing mothers in various positions including football hold. Please refer to the Positioning section for how to achieve this, and other holds using the Natural Curve Nursing Pillow.
Though you could use the pillow as a back support or a pillow in any other position, the Natural Curve Nursing Pillow was designed specifically for ergonomic positioning while breastfeeding and may not function ideally as a support pillow.
Though you could use the pillow to prop baby up, the Natural Curve Nursing Pillow was designed specifically for ergonomic positioning while breastfeeding and may not function ideally as an infant support pillow.
No. Ergobaby’s Natural Curve Nursing Pillow, which is made of Polyurethane Foam, does not contain any flame retardants.
Ergobaby’s Natural Curve Nursing Pillow foam has one of the lowest odors in the market. But odor may be present, especially for new foams out of the packaging. This odor dissipates quickly in about two days. Simply airing out will speed up the process. If you notice a new foam smell, simply let the pillow air out for a day or two before using it.
California regulations exempts nursing pillows from meeting the flammability requirements of Technical Bulletin (TB) 117, the California flammability standard for all upholstered furniture products. Therefore, flame retardants are not required.
The cover can be machine washed, cold. Do not bleach. Tumble dry low. Do not iron. Do not dry clean. To clean the pillow, wipe clean with water if needed, flat dry.
Due to the firm supportive nature of our pillow, and our goal of providing moms with comfortable breastfeeding support, the Natural Curve Nursing Pillow does not fit well in armed rocking chairs. We wanted to make sure there was enough surface area to fully support baby, and that the opening of our pillow was wide enough to accommodate moms of varied sizes.
Molds may form when items are left wet and unclean, but may be inhibited in Polyurethane Foams. Like any other Polyurethane Foam pillow, you need to ensure that it is cleaned when soiled, and dried well.
The advantage of our nursing pillow foam is that, it is made of closed cellular foam which repels water or moisture up to a certain degree. The closed cellular foam will prevent the water or liquid from penetrating the inside of the foam. So, if you clean and dry the liner completely and maintain the integrity of the foam, the foam will last for a long period of time.
No. Never allow baby to sleep on the Natural Curve Nursing Pillow.
In cradle hold the mother supports the baby’s head in the crook of her arm. A nursing pillow can be a useful tool in this position to help support your arm and baby to reduce fatigue and neck/shoulder pain. Refer to our Positions Section for more tips and information regarding this position.
Cross-Cradle hold is similar to the cradle hold, except that the mother supports the baby’s head with the opposite hand. A nursing pillow can be a useful tool in this position to help support your arm and baby to reduce fatigue and neck/shoulder pain. Refer to our Positions Section for more tips and information regarding this position.
Baby lays beside you, with legs and feet tucked under your arm, hips are flexed and his legs resting towards your back or gently tucked behind your back, if your baby is longer. Baby is facing you, with his mouth at nipple height. A nursing pillow can be a useful tool to help elevate baby to reach your nipple. Refer to our Positions section for more tips and information regarding this position.
The Plush/Pile side of the cover is 100% polyester, the Poplin side of the pillow is 100% cotton
The Natural Curve nursing pillow is made of a high density poly-urethane foam providing lasting support for nursing mothers and babies.
The primary function of a nursing pillow is to provide both mother and baby with support in breastfeeding positioning for a healthy latch.
For Mom — you will want to have support for your arms, with the pillow snug against your body, you will want to be able to lean back and relax your shoulders during the feed. You may also like to use a small stool to elevate your feet slightly. Baby’s mouth should be at level of mother’s breast. Mom should not be leaning into baby.
For Baby — Head, neck, and body should be in a straight line with baby’s nose and mouth positioned level to and facing mother’s nipple. Baby will need to lead with its chin and open mouth widely to initiate a good latch. Baby should be positioned tummy to tummy with mom.
Nursing pillows can play a helpful role early on in providing small infants with a much needed boost in height so that baby’s head and mouth are at an appropriate position and angle for efficient and comfortable feeding. They also help maintain appropriate positioning for baby’s body during feeding. Early on, keeping baby’s head, neck and body in a straight line is important.
The Natural Curve Nursing Pillow is able to support nursing mothers in various positions and babies at various ages. Please refer to the Positioning section for how to achieve a comfortable position using the Natural Curve Nursing Pillow.
Scrub affected area with warm water and mild detergent if desired. Allow to dry for 24 hours
The ideal nursing pillow should provide support for mom and baby and help achieve a comfortable breastfeeding position. It should be easy to use, made of safe, durable materials, and easy to clean.
You can find replacement covers for the Natural Curve Nursing Pillow on Ergobaby.com along with our other wonderful products. More retailers are adding this product offering every day.
You can find the Natural Curve Nursing Pillow on Ergobaby.com along with our other wonderful products. Buy Buy Baby will be carrying the Natural Curve Nursing Pillow. More retailers are adding this product offering every day.
The unique curve of the Natural Curve Nursing Pillow was designed to keep baby’s head elevated above their tummy, which may aid digestion, while cradling baby in to you, tummy-to-tummy, for that ideal position. You also get the added benefit of getting to have direct eye contact while feeding baby.
The Natural Curve Nursing Pillow is so firm so that it will firmly support baby in a position that lifts him up to your breast so that you do not have to slouch down to achieve a proper latch. This helps contribute to your comfort throughout each nursing session. The firmness of the pillow also makes it so that the pillow does not loose its shape and have to be “fluffed” to provide the breastfeeding support you need.
Swaddlers
TOG rating for Ergobaby Original Swaddler is 0.6.
Light Weight Swaddler is 33% lighter than the Original Swaddler, however specific TOG rating is not available based on our unique, aerated fabric.
Yes! The Ergobaby Swaddler was in part designed based on the recommendations put forth by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute allowing for baby’s legs to be bent up and out at the hips, and is acknowledged as a “hip healthy” product.
The Original Ergobaby Swaddler was designed to be used during all four seasons and is made of soft and breathable 100% cotton knit. This material is super cozy for baby and stretches with movement for additional comfort.
Ergobaby also offers a Lightweight Swaddler option, introduced in 2015, that is 33% lighter than the Original Swaddler.
- Ergonomic Design – patented design features a Healthy Hip Positioner that helps keep baby’s legs and hips in an ergonomic position to allow for healthy hip development, and positions arms in natural “hands to heart” position.
- Escape Proof – Specially designed arm pockets and leg positioner keeps the Swaddler from coming undone or shifting during sleep.
- Extra Convenience – Features a unique “removable leg pouch” for quick and easy diaper changes and also allows for use with harness systems commonly found in swings and bouncers.
- Additional Comfort – Breathable 100% cotton is soft on baby’s skin and works great year round. Our premium, cotton knit material stretches with baby’s movements for additional comfort.
- Easy-to-use – Ensures that baby is snug and comfortable in just a few simple steps.
- Machine Washable
The Ergobaby Swaddler is a patented design and has several features, including:
- Arm Pockets: The arm pockets help to position baby’s arm in a natural, hands-to-heart position with elbows bent. The arm sleeves also help to prevent baby’s arms from escaping the Swaddler. Babies tend to move their arms up while sleeping and will wake if their arms become ‘free.’
- Healthy Hip Positioner: The Ergobaby Swaddler provides plenty of space to so that baby’s legs aren’t restricted. This helps promote healthy hip development by allowing for an ergonomic frog leg position to be achieved.
Ergobaby’s Original Swaddler is made of soft and breathable 100% cotton knit, and is available in Natural, Elephants, and Sparrows. Pink, blue, and green options are available while supplies last.
Ergobaby’s Lightweight Swaddler is made from an extra airy and breathable aerated cotton-poly blend that is 33% lighter than the Original Swaddler, and is available in Sand, Stone, and Lilac.
The main purpose of the Ergobaby Swaddlers unique arm pockets is to keep the arms from startling the baby awake. Additionally, the arm pockets help keep baby swaddled through the night.
The primary point of swaddling is to recreate the conditions baby experienced in the womb. The position of the arms is part of a natural fetal position—elbows bent with hands to heart.
The leg pouch is meant to be wide to allow movement from side-to-side. Having the legs too tightly wrapped is against the recommendation of the International Hip Dysplasia Institute’s guidelines on swaddling. Allows baby to extend their legs fully, as babies do. The leg pouch is meant to be loose to allow for easy access to change diapers and for use with 3-point harness systems in swings and/or bouncers as well as the option to leave down on warmer nights.
The velcro used in the Ergobaby Swaddler consists of a premium “hook-and-loop fastener” system that makes the velcro extremely soft to the touch and tends to be “quieter” than mainstream velcro.
Immediately discontinue use of the Ergobaby Swaddler once your baby can roll over.
The design of the Arm Pockets on the Ergobaby Swaddler serves to swaddle baby comfortably in a natural position, and keep baby swaddled to help both baby and you sleep longer, and more peacefully. We believe that our product is innovative in design and function.
Design is so unique, we have been granted two US Patents to date!
By two years of age, a child will have spent more time asleep than awake. A healthy amount of sleep is essential for babies as it directly impacts their mental and physical development, as well as happiness. Just as you ensure your baby has a safe play environment, it’s important to establish a safe sleep environment. Proper sleep conditions will help your baby rest better, longer, and safer…so you can sleep better too.

The practice of swaddling a baby has been used for centuries in many different cultures due to its various benefits.
- Swaddling mimics the structure of the womb and helps ease a baby’s transition into the world.
- Newborns need extensive nurturing during the first 3 months of life; this time is commonly referred to as the fourth trimester.
- Swaddling reduces spontaneous movements (called reflex motion) that startle your baby awake and keeps your little one in REM sleep (the most restorative, deepest sleep) for longer periods of time.
- Research demonstrates that when swaddled correctly, babies are safer since they are more likely to stay asleep on their backs and less likely to get caught in loose blankets.
- Swaddling can have a calming effect that soothes baby.
- Swaddling helps regulate baby’s body temperature.
- Swaddling reduces scratching.

Infant Inserts
Yes, all of our Carriers and Infant Inserts (plus insert pillow) are machine washable.
Yes, if your baby is larger or taller and does not fit within the Easy Snug infant insert with the pillow but still requires head and neck support, you can just use the outer shell of the infant insert to ensure baby’s neck is properly supported. Baby should be properly seated in the carrier in an ergonomic M-shape position.
Yes, our Easy Snug infant insert and pillow are both machine washable.
The newly added side straps on our Infant Insert are optional and are designed to securely attach to carrier to prevent the Infant Insert from falling out of the carrier as you remove your baby from the Carrier or Infant Insert.
Whenever using the infant insert, please make sure to read the usage instructions carefully and refer to the YouTube videos for added help, especially for babies 0 to 4 months. To maximize air circulation for your baby in the infant insert & carrier, you should always make sure that the baby’s face and head remain uncovered and that the baby’s face is visible and with the top of her head close enough to kiss at all times. Also, for correct positioning, check to ensure that you can fit a finger between your baby’s chin and chest at all times.
The pillow is for babies who are either too short to bend at the knees when seated in the Carrier or would like to be seated higher in the Carrier. Baby should be over 12 lbs., older than 4 months, and demonstrate strong head and neck control.

Use the inner snaps for a snug fit when newborn baby needs more support. Use the outer snaps when baby starts to hold head for a few moments and turn it form side to side, to give her that little extra-room to move her head while properly supporting it. This usually happens when baby is around 6 weeks old and give her first “real” smiles.
The references to ages and weights are only general guidelines and each baby’s development is different. The Easy Snug infant insert should be used until your baby demonstrates strong head and neck control and can be seated comfortably in an ergonomic, M-shaped position within the Carrier.
The Easy Snug infant insert and pillow are only intended to be used in the front inward carry position.
The Easy Snug infant insert and pillow are only intended to be used in the front inward carry position.
All Ergobaby Easy Snug infant inserts can be used with ANY Ergobaby Carrier with the exception of Adapt, which does not require an insert to carry an infant.
The stitched triangle emblem on the pillow should always be pointing upward and facing you, with the baby seated on the wider seat of the pillow. When used with the shell of the Infant Insert, the direction of the triangle is easy to match with the stitched triangle on the shell.

For older babies who still need head and neck support, but can already be seated in the carrier, you can use the shell of the Easy Snug infant insert without the pillow to provide proper support.
Our improved Easy Snug’s streamlined, fan-shaped design allows for more airflow. The Cool Air Mesh Easy Snug options provide additional coolness and breathability.

Babywearing
We have a winter weather cover to keep baby warm in cold weather. Check it out here: http://store.ergobaby.com/accessories/weather-covers/winter-weather-cover-black
Many mamas successfully nurse while using the Carrier.
Here’s a great video from our friend Jessica at The Leaky Boob: http://ergoba.by/14HPBsL
Many women have safely used the Ergobaby carrier throughout their pregnancy. However, this is very much an individual preference and we recommend you consult your health care practitioner if you choose to continue to carry your child beyond your fifth month of pregnancy.
All of our carriers fit differently, and depending on the wearer’s body type and baby’s size, one will likely stand out as being more comfortable. That being said, if you are having under arm rub (depending on your bust size), you are likely pulling the chest clip too tight, as well as placing it too high, and the shoulder straps are too loose. Try loosening the chest clip & lowering it a little, and also tightening the shoulder straps.
Be sure that he is old enough (4-6 months) and comfortable to spread his legs around you comfortably. He may be in that transition period from the infant insert… if baby has great head control, but still can’t spread his legs around you, you may take the pillow out and seat the baby just on the pillow (without the “taco” part). Also, make sure that baby has a good deep seat in the carrier and that the weight is not resting on his legs, but rather his bum.
Any babywearing can be warm. That said, many parents like our Performance, as it has some mesh wicking to help with breathability.
Also, here’s a great post about Babywearing in Hot Climates: http://ergoba.by/WbBN84

Travel
While the baby carrier is an indispensable item for ease of travel, especially in airports, FAA regulations ban the use of baby carriers during take off and landing during flights. We recommend use of an FAA-approved car seat on the airplane.

It depends on the TSA guard whether you can wear baby through security. One Ergobaby employee traveled extensively when her daughter was under 1 year and it was about 50/50 whether they made her take it off. That being said, FAA does NOT allow carriers to be worn on the plane, so we recommend taking your car seat for baby on the plane.

Counterfeits
Finding deeply discounted or cheap prices through search engines or on seemingly authentic Ergobaby sites are often a good indication that a product is counterfeit. Our products are of a premium quality and construction. We have seen many unauthorized distributors offer ‘wholesale’ prices or ‘clearance’ and ‘sale’ discounts on counterfeit products. If a deal seems too good to be true, question it – it usually is.
If you are in the U.S., Customer Care will help to verify if your carrier is authentic or not. Please contact them here.
If you are outside the U.S., please contact your local distributor.
